A connoisseur's case; three bottles each of four Brakspear bottled beers, available in all Majestic and Booker depots and many Costco depots.
ABV 3.4% 500ml bottle
Tasting NoteWith a reputation for delivering real depth of flavour at a quaffable 3.4% abv, Brakspear Bitter is a red amber coloured beer with a tight white head and a delicate toffee aroma. The gently effervescent ale gives a warming sweet malty toffee flavour, a citrus bitterness and a hint of saltiness.
Brakspear Bitter is ideal with foods such as fish and chips, Ploughmans lunch, and mature English cheeses.
The decades-old revered cask ale recipe is now available to off-trade customers, and bottled to capture its subtle distinct flavours. The brewing recipe uses Fuggles and Goldings as with the cask version and, vitally, the original Brakspear yeast. But the real differentiation comes from the use of the flavour-yielding ‘double-dropped’ fermentation system, so beloved by Brakspear fans.
Our Head Brewer commented: “I am thrilled that the complex flavours, which are the hallmark of Brakspear Bitter, have been preserved so well in this bottle. When I want a refreshing drink or two at home, this one will really hit the spot!”
Brakspear TripleABV 7.2% 500 ml bottle
A beer conceived by our Head Brewer to celebrate the return of Brakspear brewing to Oxfordshire. This is a triple fermented, triple hopped strong beer, packaged in individually numbered bottles (see below).
With its high alcohol content and bottle conditioning, this is a beer that will go on to develop further complexity as it matures in its bottle.
